WHAT??

(h/t Andrew Roth at Club For Growth)

Brace yourself for the arrogant elitism of Chicago Alderman George Cardenas of the 12th ward as he discusses the city's proposed tax on bottled water:

"'People enjoy jogging or driving with a bottle of water. There's a cost associated with this behavior. You have to pay for it,' said Cardenas, one of Mayor Daley's staunchest City Council supporters.

Cardenas noted that there's a nearly $40 million shortfall in the city's water and sewer funds, in part because of a decline in water usage."

What unrestrained, tyrannical gall this jackoff has. I'm so glad I don't live in the city anymore.

Memo to Mr. Cardenas - you serve at the pleasure of the constituency. For you to make the decision that the peasants you lord over need to be punished because the city's water is undrinkable; this is the attitude I would expect from Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe. I hope voters remember this arrogant, paternal attitude next time your are up for reelection.

What an elitist nanny!
