Williams: Senator Obama, if, God forbid a thousand times, while we were gathered here tonight, we learned that two American cities have been hit simultaneously by terrorists and we further learned, beyond the shadow of a doubt it had been the work of Al Qaida, how would you change the U.S. military stance overseas as a result?
Obama: Well, the first thing we'd have to do is make sure that we've got an effective emergency response, something that this administration failed to do when we had a hurricane in New Orleans.
And I think that we have to review how we operate in the event of not only a natural disaster, but also a terrorist attack.
The second thing is to make sure that we've got good intelligence, a., to find out that we don't have other threats and attacks potentially out there, and b., to find out, do we have any intelligence on who might have carried it out so that we can take potentially some action to dismantle that network.
But what we can't do is then alienate the world community based on faulty intelligence, based on bluster and bombast. Instead, the next thing we would have to do, in addition to talking to the American people, is making sure that we are talking to the international community. Because as already been stated, we're not going to defeat terrorists on our own. We've got to strengthen our intelligence relationships with them, and they've got to feel a stake in our security by recognizing that we have mutual security interests at stake.
What frosts the hell out of me about this statement (granted, its a Democrat debate so its the same as if Ms. IL was giving a speech to the College Democrats at Berkeley) is the reference to "alienating the world community based on ..... bluster and bombast." BLUSTER and BOMBAST?
George W. Bush, Colin Powell, Tony Blair, and Jack Straw along with the coalition of the willing literally kissed the asses of the world community for 13 months leading up to the onset of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Both Bush and Colin Powell used intelligence that the entire western world supported in making the case before the world community. For over 11 years, Saddam Hussein told the world to kiss his ass, that he wasn't going to live up the obligations he made to the world in 1991 upon his routing in Operation Desert Storm.
For the last part of the 1990s, Bill Clinton made literally the same statements that Bush and Powell made; Saddam was a threat, his Weapons of Mass Destruction programs were a threat to the free world. Clinton sounded the same call as Bush: regime change was needed in Iraq.
So, as the ashes settled from 9/11, George W. Bush has a call to either subjugate the US to constant fear, for generations to come. Or, he can make the hard decision to put Islamofascists the world over (fascists in general) on notice: that the United States of America and the Free World will no longer play Wiffle Ball with them. Moving forward, for all his faults, Bush has let the tyrants of the world know that the Post-9/11 United States will have zero tolerance for tyrants that do not live up to their obligations to the Free World. Because to do anything less empowers the tyrants to become even more ambitious. Nothing says "Paper Tiger" to the enemies of free societies more than huffing and puffing with NO CONSEQUENCE. Bush himself told the UN, to his credit, that (paraphrase): "This world body runs the risk of becoming irrelevant if it does not enforce its resolutions."
So, remember our talk of Saddam's non-compliance? For over 11 years and 17 UN Resolutions, Saddam essentially told the Free World to kiss his ass. On 9/10/01, we rolled our eyes at it. On 9/12/01, we got the sense to say, "enough".
That's right - 11 years and 17 - SEVENTEEN - UN Resolutions. And Saddam still was non compliant. Further, didn't the US and its allies offer Saddam and his thug sons asylum prior to the commencement of hostilities? Where's the bombast on the US's part in that?
One other thing about this whole "bluster and bombast" nonsense. Its called resolve. And its the only thing that the enemy understands. Talk is nothing but weakness to them. When they are defeated, then they will listen to words.
Thank you, Ms. Illinios, Barack Obama, for reminding us why your party is thoroughly unfit to lead this country in this day and age. You completely misunderstand our enemy. And our enemy ISN'T George W. Bush.

I want to address later today, the idiocy of the Ku Klux Klan and their simpletonish take on the Obama Candidacy. I'm no fan of Ms. IL and I've made that clear both here and at Newsbusters. This NB thread from Mark Finkelstein highlights his rabid Leftist tendencies, and for that reason alone I'd never support his candidacy. What's the Klan's hatred for Obama based on? Of course, Skin Color. Ms. IL, I will never vote for you, but don't for one minute let Bozo Simpletons like the KKK intimidate you.
